Two U.S. marshals and an FBI agent were shot Saturday night in Topeka, and the injuries were not life-threatening. A fourth federal agent also suffered the same injuries, but it's unclear what agency the officer is associated with, said Lt. Colleen Stuart of Topeka Police.
During the shooting, a fire broke out at the motel, and firefighters are working to put it out, police said.
It's unclear whether the suspect is still inside or has escaped, according to Stuart.
"Once the fire is extinguished, authorities will know how to proceed with the investigation," Stuart said.
