Fans can rest easy with the news that David Hasselhoff will be joining the cast of the upcoming "Baywatch" movie reboot, as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson announced Wednesday on social media.
"Hey, listen, I don't know if the world is ready for both of us," Johnson says during a video phone call with Hasselhoff that he posted. "Are you ready?"
Hasselhoff replies, "I was born ready."
The original "Baywatch" television series, a cult classic that ran from 1989 to 2001, starred Hasselhoff as head lifeguard Mitch Buchannon. It sparked the careers of stars like Pamela Anderson and Yasmine Bleeth.
The movie will star Johnson as Buchannon and Zac Efron as the former Olympian who joins his crew; the cast also includes Priyanka Chopra, Alexandra Daddario and Kelly Rohrbach.
The Rock was clearly excited that the Hoff is on board.
"There ain't no 'Bay' without the Hoff," Johnson said in the video. " 'Baywatch,' get ready, world."
The film is set for release in 2017.
